Gospel of Mark 9:14-29

Thanks so much to Brice for preaching and serving our church last week! Continuing in Mark's Gospel, discussed the Transfiguration and following Jesus from "mountaintop" experiences to the cross. This week, we will explore Mark 9:14-29. It is in this section of Mark's Gospel we come to verse 24, "I believe; help my unbelief." For many the questions come up- can we as believers struggle with unbelief? Is unbelief a sin? While the concepts of belief and unbelief often live more in the forefront of our minds the surrounding story is often less known. This Sunday we'll explore the story of this exorcism, what Mark is encouraging his audience to think about, and what it has to do with us following Jesus today. Today we talk about what role belief and unbelief play in our discipleship to Jesus.
